Changes in Procedures and Times

As advised last year, there are some changes to the way that we will operate this year.

  • When students arrive at school they may place their bag in the bag rack outside their classroom and return to the courtyard

  • 8.45 a.m. Pink Panther bell signifies students and parents can enter classrooms

  • 8.50 a.m. Lessons begin

  • 11.00 – 11.30 a.m. Recess Time

  • 1.00 – 1.30 p.m. Lunch Time

  • 3.00 pm School Finishes and OSHC starts

Newsletters

Newsletters will be issued fortnightly (odd weeks) on Thursdays.  During even weeks, Tammy Bruecher will send home a Community Connections Newsletter giving details of community events held locally.  In building community we are happy to make announcements in the school newsletter relating to community births, deaths and special achievements.  Someone on staff will always check with you that it is ok to include such information.  If you would like to share something in the newsletter please contact Linda in the Front Office.

Assemblies

Will be held fortnightly on Fridays 9-9.20 a.m. in even weeks.  Each class will have a turn at hosting assemblies.  Parents and caregivers are warmly invited to be a part of these events.

Absent from School

When your child is/will be absent from school please report this information to your child’s teacher or Linda in the Front Office.

Uniform

It was wonderful to see so many students arrive at school yesterday wearing correct school uniform.  Wearing the correct uniform is about building a sense of belonging, pride and equity.  Please ensure that all uniform items are labelled with your child’s name.  When your child is out of uniform, please write or speak to your child’s teacher to save any confusion. Contact Linda in the Front Office if you have any questions relating to uniform.  Lost property is located in the Front Office.

Oval Use

Reception – Yr 2 at recess times and Yr 3-7 at lunch times.  Hats are compulsory for staff and students at these times.  No hat means students must play under a shaded structure.

BER Building Program

Nothing much different to when we left last year!  We patiently await our new hall, canteen and OSHC facilities.  The delay in proceedings is due to the tender coming in over budget.  Negotiations are occurring to ensure that we obtain the best possible outcome within the allocated monies from the Australian Government.  I will keep you informed of any updates.  If you would like to look at the new building plans please contact Linda in the Front Office.

Calendar

Included with this newsletter is a list of calendar dates for this term.

Wishing everyone a happy and successful year of learning,
